Conductor Lawrence Golan – appointed co-leader of the European Music Institute Vienna’s new Laudon Opera Workshop and Performance Program

Conductor Lawrence Golan has been appointed co-leader of the new Laudon Opera Workshop and Performance Program at the European Music Institute Vienna.  Maestro Golan will co-lead the European Music Institute Vienna’s new 23-day summer program for young conductors and singers at Vienna’s Schloss Laudon. 

Conductor Lawrence Golan is Music Director and Principal Conductor of the York Symphony Orchestra (York, PA) as well as Music Director and Conductor of the Yakima Symphony Orchestra, Denver Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Portland Ballet Company. He is a tenured full professor at the University of Denver where he leads the graduate conducting program at the Lamont School of Music.

Maestro Golan has received numerous awards for programming and recordings, including eight ASCAP Awards for Adventurous Programming of Contemporary Music, two Global Music Awards for CD recordings, and three Downbeat Magazine Awards for Best College Symphony Orchestra (with Lamont Symphony Orchestra).
