Conductor Ken Lam – debut concert with Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra

Conductor Ken Lam led his debut concert with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra in early February 2019. Among the features of the concert was a performance by Xu Ke, the world’s foremost erhu virtuoso who performed the Butterfly Lovers Concerto by He Zhanhao and Chen Gang. Also on the program was Stravinsky’s Song of a Nightingale and the popular Train Tocatta by contemporary Chinese composer Liu Yuan.

Conductor Ken Lam is currently Music Director of the Charleston Symphony Orchestra. He is also Music Director of the Illinois Symphony Orchestra and holds the positions of Resident Conductor at the Brevard Music Center in North Carolina and Artistic Director of Hong Kong Voices. He is the recipient of Johns Hopkins University’s 2015 Global Achievement Award.
