Conductor Joseph F. Young – three debut concerts with three orchestras over three weeks

Conductor Joseph F. Young recently led three debut concerts with three orchestras during a three-week period in January and February 2019.

  • In his debut with the Berkeley Symphony, Maestro Young conducted works by Britten, Hannah Kendall and Bernstein.
  • In his debut with the San Francisco Symphony, Maestro Young conducted a themed concert entitled Music Around the World: Influences of Africa.
  • In his debut with the Charlotte Symphony, Maestro Young conducted works by Copland, Michael Daugherty and Tchaikovsky.

Conductor Joseph F. Young was recently appointed by Peabody Conservatory as their new Ruth Blaustein Rosenberg Artistic Director of Ensembles.  He was formerly Assistant Conductor of the Atlanta Symphony.  He is recipient of three Solti Foundation U.S. Career Assistance Awards for young conductors.
