Conductor Alastair Willis – appointed Music Director of the South Bend Symphony Orchestra effective July 1 2017.

Conductor Alastair Willis has been appointed Music Director of the South Bend Symphony Orchestra effective July 1 2017.  Maestro Willis will make his first appearance with the South Bend Symphony Orchestra for the Season-opening Jack M. Champaigne Masterworks Series on September 23, 2017.  He will lead 12 concert programs in the 2017-18 season.

 

Conductor Alastair Willis’ previous positions include Music Director of the Illinois Symphony Orchestra, Associate Conductor of the Seattle Symphony, Assistant Conductor of the Cincinnati Symphony and Pops Orchestras and Music Director of the Cincinnati Youth Symphony Orchestra.  Maestro Willis is an active guest conductor worldwide.  His current season includes the Seattle Symphony, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Boca Raton Sinfonia, Gyor Philharmonic and the Philharmonie Sudwestfalen.
