Conductor Akiko Fujimoto – appointed Assistant Conductor of the Minnesota Orchestra

Conductor Akiko Fujimoto has been appointed Assistant Conductor of the Minnesota Orchestra.  In her new position, Conductor Akiko Fujimoto will lead Young People’s Concerts, family programs and outdoor community concerts as well as serving as cover conductor for Classical subscription and Live at Orchestra Hall concert performances. Additionally, she will serve as a key link to the community, participating in engagement activities, school visits and collaborations with other Minnesota arts and cultural institutions.

Conductor Akiko Fujimoto will also continue to serve as Associate Conductor of the San Antonio Symphony where her responsibilities include conducting classical and other concerts as well as ballet, as well as hosting “Classical Conversations,” pre-concert lectures for the Classics Series.
