Conductor Martin Pearlman and Boston Baroque – first ever period instrument performance of Beethoven’s Fidelio in Boston

Conductor Martin Pearlman and Boston Baroque will perform Beethoven’s opera Fidelio in the first ever period instrument performance of the opera in Boston.  This premiere performance will feature an internationally renowned cast that includes Metropolitan Opera singers, tenor William Burden and soprano Wendy Bryn Harmer. 

Conductor Martin Pearlman’s performances of Fidelio will be held at NEC's Jordan Hall in Boston on Friday, April 13 @ 7:30 pm and Sunday, April 15 @ 3:00 pm. 

Conductor Martin Pearlman and Boston Baroque received a 2016 Grammy nomination for best opera recording for Monteverdi’s Il ritorno d’Ulisse in patria.  Three previous Grammy nominations for Maestro Pearlman and Boston Baroque include Handel’s Messiah (1992), Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610 (1998) and Bach’s Mass in B Minor (2000).
