Conductor Shizuo Kuwahara – conducts debut performance with Mariinsky Theatre Ballet

Conductor Shizuo Kuwahara will conduct his debut performance with the Mariinsky Theatre Ballet on February 14, 2020 with an original production of Ravel’s Daphnis et Chloé

The initial performances of the ballet, which is choreographed by Dmitri Pimonov with scenography and costumes by Skas Lopatkin, will take place at the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre in Vladivostok, Russia on Friday, February 14, 2020 and Saturday, February 15, 2020.

In his role as Principal Guest Conductor of the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theater in Vladivostok, Maestro Shizuo Kuwahara will also conduct orchestral and opera performances later in February.

Maestro Kuwahara holds the position as Ambassador of Tourism for the City of Yokkaichi, Japan.  His other current activities include reengagements with the Seattle Symphony, the Osaka Symphony Orchestra, the State Symphony Orchestra Moscow, and the Philharmonic Winds Osaka.
