Boston Trio celebrates Bostonian Composers

The Boston Trio, celebrating their 24th season as a performing ensemble next year, is offering distinct programs with a focus on Bostonian composers.

The following are three sample programs that they have developed for this celebratory year.

Program 1: ‘the 3 B’s’
• Beethoven – Trio in D major, Opus 70, #1 ‘Ghost’
• Leonard Bernstein – Trio
• Brahms – Trio in B Major

Program 2
• Schumann – Trio #1 in D minor
• Elena Ruehr – Trio
• Shostakovich – Trio #2 in E minor

Program 3
• Beethoven – Trio in G major, Opus 1, #2
• John Harbison – Trio
• Arensky – Trio in D minor

The Boston Trio (violin, cello and piano) since its formation has been applauded for a superb sense of ensemble and wondrous balance. The ensemble has a long and distinguished resume which includes the major chamber music venues throughout the United States. 

Individually, the Boston Trio members all have distinguished careers as soloists, recitalists and chamber musicians.
