A Berlioz specialist, Figueroa in 2003 created the most comprehensive Berlioz Festival in the US on the occasion of the composer’s bicentennial. A committed proponent of the performance of new music, Figueroa has conducted the premiers of works by contemporary composers including Robert Sierra, Ernesto Cordero and Miguel del Aguila.
